Iris

Today, I'm sending you a non-conventional view of a beautiful flower.  I'm not sure if this is an Iris, but I shot many frames of this flower and it's a very good subject for macro photography--that, I'm sure of.

Anhinga

Which of the two chicks will get into its father's mouth first?  As you can see by the feathers flying around, feeding time in the Anhinga world is a very agitated moment.

Two Glossy Ibises preening their feathers.  Glossy Ibises, depending on the light, look green, brown, red or even black, or a mix of all of the above.

Pelican

I made this close-up of that  beautiful (yet ugly) Brown Pelican at the Palm Beach Zoo.

Anhinga

This male Anhinga is pausing after a flight. Now he's ready to face up to his young who will literally assault him to get him to open his bill so they can get the regurgitated food inside.

Maggie

We were in a park with Brother & Sister Denis, walking their small dog when I saw this bird of prey about 100 to 150 ft. over our heads, circling around.  I told Guy and he made sure that the dog was staying close-by.  We went back to the car and the bird went to search elsewhere for a free lunch.

Mottled Duck

This is the color of the Mottled Duck.  And this is the way I've always seen it before taking the photo you saw yesterday.

That bird is called a "Mottled Duck". I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all these bright colors on that duck in flight. You'll see the reason why when you look at tomorrow's "Photo of the Day".
